Brilliant car. Significant lapse in maintenance after long term hire prior to me. Rear tyres less than 2000km left. Discovery after front right blew. Rear sun shade needs new plastic tabs, because otherwise inoperable. Bluetooth handsfree doesn’t work with iPhones, car service lights on, and issues with gear box. Very disappointed that owner insisted on making me pay for tyre repair. As with fuel, the distance charge covers tires. A puncture is not an “accident”
The car is maintained as per logbook. Service light came on due to coolant level being slightly below minimum which is now topped up. After test drive, the car has no issues with the gearbox and has roadworthy tyres. Flat tyres during a booking are responsibility of the borrower (covered partly by insurance) as stated in Car Next Door policy and any car rental company in Australia. In any case, I fixed the tyre at my expense as a gesture of goodwill.
