Car had trouble starting. Took 5 minutes taking the key in and out. Mechanical issues appeared on the car display screen. Car started to smell like an odd burning/dime from the engine. Engine started to overheat and the thermostat was constantly flashing. No mention of this until car is hired. Owner describes mechanical issues stemming from DECEMBER 2021. Owner asks users to help diagnose the issue a mechanic doesn’t know. should not be on Uber Carshares. Car was dirty on top of this. Unbelievable inconvenience and stress to find a new car and reload luggage multiple times.
The car returned from the mechanic not too long before your booking after having the thermostat changed. When we inspected the car and drove it for half a day we couldn't fault it. When speaking to the mechanic he suggested that the cooling system may have had an air pocket causing low coolant and the borrrower after you topped up the expansion tank. Probably best in these situations to call the owner or roadside assistance rather than continuing to drive a car that is overheating. The mechanical issues mentioned in the vehicle description is 11 month outdated as the issue was found and rectified however thank you for the reminder as we have removed this from the instructions.
