Vehicle has no parking permit so had to drive around for 20 mins until I found one 1.1km away (18 minute walk).
VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS EXPERIENCE. DO NOT BOOK UNLESS ROHAN HAS OBTAINED AN AREA 17 PARKING PERMIT... Came from Melbourne, booked Rohan's car for the purpose of making our way around Sydney easier howerver it took us 1 hour and 15 mins to return the car to ensure it's in an unrestricted time/permit zone. Strongly recommend to find a rental car that has a permit so that you can return the car easily (anywhere within the permit zone along the street). The recommended parking areas for Rohan's car are permit zones (area 17) and restricted time zones (which ends at 11pm or midnight, but it's our responsibility for any fines and might be paying for the fines until the next renter rents the car), which cannot be parked. We have tried to contact Rohan on his mobile and via message at 4-5:30pm but there was no response. We felt so helpless while we're finding car spots for return as we're not from this state and area. He still hasn't replied to any of our phones or messages up till this point (roughly 2 hours)... We would like to let Rohan and the others reading this message to know that we have successfully found a parking spot (with no time restriction/ permit), AFTER 1 HOUR AND 15 MINS DRIVING AROUND LOOKING FOR A SUITABLE PARKING SPOT! Mind you, we spent another 15-20 mins to take all the bloody photos to upload to the Uber carshare app and return the car in the same condition as of the start of the rental. We would also want to let you know that the car is not in a spotless condition (this might not be the same situation in every case). We assume our previous rental person just came back from the beach as there were a lot of sand and crumbs in the front and back seats (ON all the seat and the floor). The boot was clean and no problem with the exterior of the car (except for a few scratches that was already there upon collection).
The car was dirty. The fuel was almost zero and just had enough to arrive petrol station. I had trouble with the oil and had to call NRMA to fix this. The car does not have parking permit and I had to spend good amount of time to find a spot. Apart from that it is imposible to reach the owner. Overall that was my worst experience with uber carshare and will never use again..
