Firstly, the car lacked air conditioning, which became particularly problematic during Melbourne's scorching hot days, with temperatures hitting a blistering 40 degrees Celsius. Enduring this heat without AC made the journey incredibly uncomfortable and challenging. Secondly, the car's battery proved to be a constant source of frustration. On the second day of rental, the battery went flat unexpectedly. Despite the owner attributing it to a loosely closed boot, the problem persisted, causing significant inconvenience and disruption to my plans. Roadside assistance was called, and while they managed to recharge the battery temporarily, it failed again overnight. Subsequent visits from RACV confirmed a faulty battery, necessitating a replacement. Dealing with these issues was exasperating, particularly when time-sensitive plans were at stake. The back-and-forth communication with various departments to address the problems consumed valuable time and energy, leaving me thoroughly dissatisfied with the overall rental experience. In conclusion, the combination of sweltering conditions without AC and repeated battery failures made my car hire experience disappointing and inconvenient. These issues significantly detracted from the enjoyment and convenience one would typically expect when renting a vehicle.
