I'm sorry but I ended up returning the car early because the car is a ticking time bomb. there are some bad noises coming from it the passenger window doesn't work and the handle for the door is falling off making it difficult to close. the airconditioning doesn't work much at all and the aux/speakers sent working properly. the car was filthy when I picked it up and smelt of cigarettes. I'm hoping this isn't the owners negligence but possibly the people before us maybe. I don't believe the car should be on the road until all he mechanical issues are fixed.
Hello Noel I am sorry to hear that this has happened to you. I have been away for 10 days. When I left the car was in great mechanical condition and clean. I agree that the car will not be driven until these mechanical issues are fixed. It is going to the mechanic this weekend and will not be available on UCS untill the 'mechanical issues' are fixed. This repair will include break pads and other features that the mechanic diagnoses. Regarding the mess and smell, I aim to clean the car whenever it is tagged as dirty. However I have been away so this did not happen. It is also a borrowers responsibility to not smoke or trash the car. Regarding the A/C and passenger window. I was aware these did not work and clearly stated in the car description "A/C and passenger window do not work". I know this is not ideal however, the car was priced cheaply at 25$ a day to compensate for this. Peugeot parts are unfortunately hard to come by and often have to come overseas. The passenger window replacement will arrive and be fitted early February.
Thanks for letting me know about brake pads. The car is going to mechanic tomorrow and the brake pads, etc. are getting replaced and fixed. Sorry to hear that the car was not clean on arrival. There is a portable vacuum, wipes, dust pan and bin bags inside the car. It is the previous borrowers responsibility to clean before leaving the car.
