Car hire in Keysborough

International drivers are welcome to rent cars in Keysborough. You just need to hold a full unrestricted driver licence from your home country, with a formal English translation if it is in another language.

Our pricing works slightly differently from traditional car rental companies. When you borrow a car with Car Next Door, you pay for both the time you have the car, and the distance you drive. If you are on the no-monthly-fee Featherweight plan, you'll also pay a booking fee and if you choose, an optional excess reduction fee.

When you borrow cars with Car Next Door, you’re covered with comprehensive insurance policy. If you’re responsible for damage, the most you’ll need to pay is your Damage and Loss Liability amount - subject to some common-sense insurance exclusions.

With Car Next Door you can access hundreds of cars parked on streets and in car parks all over Keysborough. There’s probably one within a few minutes walk from your home!

Each car has both hourly and daily rates that are set by the Owner of the car. Typical rates for cars are $5–$8 per hour, and or $25-$40 per day. Vans cost around $9-12 per hour and $50-60 per day. This will be charged upfront at the time you make the booking. You also pay a distance charge for each kilometre you drive. The distance rate is chosen by the car's owner - it will be 21c, 33c or 45c per kilometre - and clearly displayed on the car's profile. This includes your fuel and also covers the owner for wear and tear on the car.
