Marketing and Communications Coordinator - Sydney, Melbourne or Adelaide
Marketing and Communications Coordinator
Are you a passionate marketing communicator with an interest in helping new ideas and services to take hold?
Do you have a proven track record of planning, executing and analysing successful content marketing, email and offline campaigns?
Are you looking to use your skills to help drive exceptional growth in a small company with big ambitions, and help us change the way Australians think about personal transport?
Join a high-performing team changing the way Australia travels
Car Next Door is fundamentally changing the way Australia travels by turning any car into a share car. We let car owners share their car with their neighbours during times they aren’t using it themselves. We do this by providing an online marketplace with safe and trusted members, a booking system and a range of in-vehicle technologies to make car sharing safe, fast, and easy for both car owners and car borrowers. Our mission is to ‘de-car’ Australia’s cities by using technology to facilitate sharing.
2017 is shaping up to be the best yet for Car Next Door - we’ve recently expanded operations from Sydney and Melbourne into Newcastle and Brisbane and are rapidly expanding our network of cars and borrowers.
We’re looking to attract an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to help drive our growth as we scale up. This is an opportunity to join a progressive start up with an already proven concept. The position will suit someone with an energetic spirit, who is looking to join a committed and successful team (About Us).
What will be your key focus?
Your skills will be put to work raising awareness of the company, growing our community of car-sharers, and building strong loyalty and sense of connection among our members. Reporting to the Communications Manager and working with the Chief Marketing Officer, you will be helping to design, implement and review communications and marketing activities directed both at acquiring new members and engaging current members.
Your role will include:
spreading the word about Car Next Door’s peer-to-peer sharing platform to targeted audiences to rapidly grow our community of screened, trustworthy and committed car owners and car borrowers;
designing and implementing timely and relevant communication to encourage people to join our car-sharing community;
ensuring that our members feel connected with the Car Next Door brand and community and are happy and enthusiastic car-sharers;
maintaining consistency of voice and visual identity across all of our communications channels;
ensuring that our members have ready access to all of the information that they need to get the most out of their car-sharing experience without needing to contact our member experience team for help;
planning, running, testing and reporting on offline marketing activities including letterbox marketing, local area marketing, festivals, markets and events.
Essential skills and experience:
Demonstrated experience with content marketing: you will be generating ideas and executing interesting, relevant content to drive traffic to our website and grow and engage our member community.
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing communications strategies across all traditional and digital channels, including newsletters, email marketing and social media.
Experience in coordinating offline marketing activities such as festivals/trade shows, events, local area marketing.
Exceptional written communication skills (including structure, reader engagement and technical proficiency). You have a portfolio of effective sales and marketing copy to demonstrate your skills.
Proficient in the use of CRM software (e.g. Salesforce, Ontraport) for email marketing. You have used targeting, segmentation and sequences successfully to acquire and engage customers.
Basic HTML for editing and troubleshooting web pages and emails.
Qualifications in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or similar (or equivalent level of professional experience).
Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated skills in managing time, setting priorities, planning and organising work flow in a fast-paced environment.
High level of computer competence and a technical mindset. We are an online platform with a technological solution to car-sharing. You don’t need to be a programmer, but you need to be able to learn how to use new systems quickly and with minimal supervision/training.
Be a team player. You may be required to step out of your normal duties to help out another team or run a project. We are firmly a ‘no divas’ business.
Drive and self-motivation. You need to be a self-starter, with the initiative to solve problems as they arise. You will be also rolling up your sleeves and getting on the front line frequently, and need to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion.
A love of learning. Be a person who is constantly looking outside for new and better ways to do things, who takes initiative to look for ways to improve processes for the benefit of the team and business, and who actively seeks feedback and takes it onboard.
