Hi, my name's Barb and I'm big! My cargo space is a whopping 3250 long, 1750 wide (1350 between the wheels) and 1550 high I'm perfect for moving house and can fit a king size mattress on a diagonal. Or just use me to move big items. Even though I'm big I'm really easy to drive. Please note that Barb has been at a Mercedes mechanic the last few weeks having her issues sorted so the problems some previous borrowers experienced have been fixed and she is good to go. Some important information: 🚨 The van will often show an oil warning light accompanied by "HI" - it might even flash!. This can be disregarded. It is simply saying that there is too much oil in the oil pan, which does not impact the operation of the vehicle. 🚐 This is a car-sharing vehicle which is primarily used for moving house etc. It will not be spotlessly clean like a rental vehicle by its very nature. You are also kindly asked to remove all rubbish from the vehicle, and to sweep out the vehicle if you leave any excessive amounts of dirt. 🚐 It is best to contact carnextdoor on (02) 8035 8000 or via live chat if you need assistance with trip extensions, booking-related issues, finding a vehicle once your trip has started, or lockbox related matters. I am unable to extend bookings, see the vehicle on the GPS once a trip has started or troubleshoot broken lockboxes. I am the best contact if you have trouble with the operation of the van. I've rented this van before and had no issues whatsoever. Unfortunately, this trip was the complete opposite. I picked the van up and stopped by my house to pick up some tools (5 min drive). Once I got back into the van to starty trip, the van would start up but then rumble, shake, and eventually die after about 10 seconds. I've spent the last 4+ hours coordinating RACV, a tow, and all this for a vehicle that is not my own.

Great van for moving! Got everything done in one move. Had no complaints about the van, it's a moving van and was perfect.

I was flustered, as I have never used this service before and was trying to figure it all out, as I was pushed for time to get everything organised. I ended up contacting Matthew, as I couldn't work out how to get the key out of the lockbox & he quickly walked me through the procedure. I took quite a few photos before I left, a couple half way and quite a few on my return. The vehicle was pretty good but it was a bit dirty/dusty but it didn't bother me at all. I didn't go over the vehicle like a forensic scientist but noticed a small piece of scrunched up paper on the dash which is still there & maybe a cigarette butt too. I think there was a burn hole in the passenger seat car seat cover. Overall the vehicle was acceptable condition imho, as it's not a new car straight from the showroom or detailed ready for sale & I'm sure it has been used extensively over the years. It did take me quite a bit of time before I departed the pickup address which ate into my booking timeslot & before I departed for my return drop off, I decided to extend my journey to make up for the time it took to do all the pre and post checks. If I ever need to do this again, this service is pretty good overall but it helps alot if you have done it before and familiar with procedures. I gather this service is better value vs the alternatives & Matthew was great to deal with. I also wasn't sure what to do in relation to fuel, so I did not attempt to top up. My journey was a relatively short round trip overall & I seen that you charge so much per km. As I'm unemployed ATM, hopefully there isn't any other charges, as I left the vehicle in the same condition as when I picked it up, just with slightly less fuel. Thankyou for your help & service.
